An Unflipped Modern Home is Ready for Its Next Chapter

The owners of this mod split-level in East Memphis bought it just after it was flipped and the beautiful ironspot brick wall had been painted over, leaving the facade without the contrast and texture that makes a house visually engaging. Luckily, the flipper had left alone the wall on the left that curves around the entrance courtyard. It still it took a ton of work and ingenuity to get the paint off. Now that gorgeous brick pattern stands out like the feature it was meant to be.

They also tackled the screened porch. It was not directly accessible from inside the house, the support posts cut it right down the middle, and it was so dirty you couldn’t see the tile floor. They designed and installed a striking set of windows with a sliding glass door to open it to the living room. They moved the support posts, clearing the view and creating a large lounging space, and re-screened the porch.
